The War On Women

Abortion restrictions that are even more draconian than those passed in Texas:

Between 12 and 18 weeks of gestation, the women must discuss the procedure with a social worker. After 18 weeks, permission must be obtained from the... Board of Health and Welfare.
Abortions must be performed by a licensed medical practitioner and, except in cases of emergency, in a general hospital or other approved healthcare establishment.

When... when... will Sweden stop its war on women?

  1. By American liberal "logic," pretty nearly the entire world is just one big War On Women.

    1. Unless your talking femicide, the it is a 'right'.

  2. The difference between Texas and Sweden is that the right to choice regarding abortion is accepted generally in Sweden. There's no public campaign to further restrict a woman's right to abortion.

In Texas (and America in general), once conservatives get limited restrictions on abortion, then they go for more restrictions. Until abortion is completely banned.

Does anyone doubt that Egnor won't be happy until abortion is banned with severe criminal penalties? And possibly birth control limited too?

    1. The law is more stringent in Sweden. Therefore the "right to choose" is not generally accepted in Sweden.

I would ban abortion completely, but that is a minority view, even among conservatives.

Severe criminal penalties for the abortionists. Not for the mothers.

Birth control has had a catastrophic impact on our society. It is a human pesticide, and it will wreck any civilization foolish enough to use it. It is perhaps the most damaging thing done to our civilization in modern times. It is the foundation of the Culture of Death-- of abortion, of marital dissolution, of destruction of the family.

But I don't believe it should be illegal. Prohibition is generally bad policy-- it usually makes things worse and creates massive criminal enterprises. But contraception should not be encouraged, taught to schoolkids, etc.

I am quite proud to say that I am one of that minority as well, although I do not identify myself as a conservative. I am against all forms of murder, including the unborn, sick, and elderly.

    3. Michael,

You're as clueless, as usual. The right to abortion is generally accepted in Sweden, and there are no moves to restrict the rights, unlike in America. Most abortions occur very early, around 9 weeks, and RU486 is available as an option. You'd ban abortions, if you had your way, from contraception on.

If you regard contraceptives as being pesticides, then you should approve, considering how much you like DDT...

    4. Bach,

"If you regard contraceptives as being pesticides, then you should approve, considering how much you like DDT..."

While I am not totally against contraception, I think you make a very strange comparison Bach. DDT is used to kill insects and prevent them from reproducing. This is, I suspect, precisely why I suspect Mike has used the comparison. Reducing insect populations with chemicals is hardly on a level with doing the same to humans, is it?
Perhaps you should consider your own position on DDT?

  3. In other international abortion news, Ireland is well on the way to legalizing abortion, albeit under very restrictive conditions. Despite threats of excommunication (burning in hell, basically) from the usual child molester brigade, I might add.

    1. Troll,

You once again equate the (admittedly disgusting) sexual abuse of a child with cold blooded murder. There are degrees of evil. You seem to be mired in such a state of moral relativism that you cannot determine the difference between a molestation and a clinical form of murder. Seek help. You have literally lost the plot.
I will simplify your position for you: Tearing unborn children to pieces in order to maintain a promiscuous lifestyle is fine. Perverts in clerical robes molesting (birthed) children is bad.
FYI: They're BOTH evil - but of a different degree. A child that has been molested can recover and go on to lead a meaningful life - inlcuding having children of their own. It's not easy for them, but it is entirely possible.
A child murdered in the womb is DEAD.
And, of course, once again you spread a libel against a religion and clergy in general.
But, I think your masters will be disappointed you did not make some sort of race-baiting comment or slur this time.
Maybe time to up the dose?
